Privacy Policy

RealClips is an AI content-generation product operated by the RealClips team. This policy explains what data we collect from you, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can access or delete it. Written in plain language, no dark patterns.

1. Who we are

“RealClips”, “we”, and “us” refer to the operator of the RealClips product at realclips.ai. For any question about this policy or your data, email hello@realclips.ai .

2. What we collect

Only what we need to run the product for you:

• Account data. Email address, display name (optional), hashed password, verification + password-reset tokens, terms-acceptance timestamp, IP + user-agent of your last login.
• Brand kit. Brand name, category, target audience, tone, brand colors, uploaded logo, watermark preferences, preferred voice and generation defaults. You provide these; we store them so your clips stay on-brand.
• Generated content. The clips, image posts, carousels, scripts, captions, and post copy we generate for you, plus the prompts and topic inputs you sent to produce them. Kept in your library until you delete them.
• Uploads. Files you upload for reference (product photos, logos, custom music). Stored in our storage backend and used only to produce content for you.
• Usage logs. API requests, error traces (via Sentry when enabled), rate-limit counters, per-provider cost logs for our own accounting, and Google Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement (see Cookies below).
• Social account connections. When you connect Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or LinkedIn, we store the platform's user ID, display name, access token, refresh token, token expiry, and the minimum profile metadata each platform returns. Used exclusively to publish clips you explicitly ask us to publish. We do not read your DMs, followers, or private data.
• Payment metadata (once billing launches). Stripe handles card numbers; we only see billing email, plan, and invoice history. We never see or store full card numbers.

3. What we do with it

• Run the generation pipeline (script, voice, video, captions).
• Send you transactional email (verify, password reset, onboarding).
• Enforce rate limits and budget caps.
• Investigate bugs and abuse (only what the log lines contain).
• Bill you (Stripe, once billing launches) and enforce plan limits.
• Publish content to your connected social accounts on your explicit request.

We do not sell your data. We do not train models on your prompts or content. We do not use your uploads to advertise the product or to other users.

4. Third-party sub-processors

RealClips routes specific data to specific vendors to run the pipeline. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and processes only what we send them:

5. How long we keep it

• Account data: for the life of your account, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Generated clips + uploads: until you delete them from your library, or account deletion.
• Raw video clips in GCS staging: auto-deleted after 7 days (the final assembled clip is stored in your library).
• Log data (Sentry, cost tracker): 30 days, then rotated out.
• Anonymous session cookies (for the free preview clip): 30 days.
• Payment history (once billing launches): as long as legally required for tax accounting (typically 7 years in the United States), then purged.

6. Your rights

• Access. Download all your data as JSON from Settings → Export Data (GDPR data portability).
• Deletion. Delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. This removes every clip, brand-kit field, connected social account, scheduled post, and upload within 30 days. Details: realclips.ai/data-deletion .
• Correction. Update account info, brand kit, and email from Settings.
• Objection / restriction. Email hello@realclips.ai to restrict specific processing. We respond within 30 days.
• Complaint. If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you may complain to your national data-protection authority.

7. International data transfers

Our servers are in the United States. When you use the product from outside that region, your data crosses borders. We rely on standard contractual clauses with sub-processors where required by EU/UK law.

8. Children

RealClips is not intended for anyone under 13. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.

9. Cookies

We set an authentication cookie after login (session), an anonymous session cookie so anon visitors can preview one clip before signing up (30 days), and CSRF tokens as needed.

We also use Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic: which pages are visited, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. It sets its own cookies and reports to Google, who act as a processor for us. We do not use it for advertising, we have not enabled Google Signals, and we do not send it your email address, your scripts, or anything you generate. Blocking analytics cookies in your browser, or any tracker blocker, stops it without affecting the product.

10. Social platform integrations

When you connect a social account (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn), we request the minimum scope needed to publish clips on your behalf. We do not read your DMs, follower lists, private posts, or other users' content. You can revoke any connection from Settings → Connected Accounts at any time; revocation removes our stored tokens and disconnects your account from RealClips.

11. Changes

If we materially change how we handle your data, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect and update the “Last updated” date at the top.
